A Young Hedgehog

The European hedgehog (Erinaceus europaeus) is a rather small creature – in length, it measures only 20 to 30 cm. When a hedgehog comes across predators, it rolls into a thorny ball, revealing all of its 5000 to 7500 spikes. I find its overall look quite cute, but maybe I wouldn’t be that confident if I were to touch one…
